Abdulsalami calls for youth participation in 2023

Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (Retd), a former Head of State, has urged the youth to exhibit interest and run for political offices in the 2023 presidential and general elections.
He gave the accusation on Friday when he met with Prince Adewole Adebayo, a presidential candidate for 2023, at his home in Minna, Niger’s capital.
Adebayo, who is the President of Kaftan TV and the Founder of the Law House, was joined by Solomon Dalung, a former Minister of Sports, and others.
“Indeed, Nigeria requires the younger generation to succeed us, the elders. “I am overjoyed that not just you, but other young people are interested in taking over the nation’s leadership,” Abdulsalami added.Adebayo praised Abdulsalami for his role in bringing the country back to democracy in May 1999.“The reason I’ve come out is critical because the country has to be rescued right now, and individuals like you literally risked your life for it, losing many of your compatriots.” He stated, “Even the country hasn’t attained its full potential.”
